Ingredients
Sauté
1 block of 350 g of extra firm Soykei tofu
30 ml (2 tbsp) cornstarch
7.5 ml (1/2 tbsp) garlic powder
1.25 ml (1/4 tsp) salt
Pepper to taste
45 ml (3 tbsp) olive oil
Sauce
175 ml (3/4 cup) orange juice
Zest of 1 orange
30 ml (2 tbsp) brown sugar
30 ml (2 tbsp) white wine vinegar
10 ml (2 tsp) fresh ginger, finely grated
Preparation
- In a cloth, pat dry the tofu well, then cut it into cubes (24 units). In a large bowl, coat the tofu cubes with the cornstarch, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, over medium-high heat, heat the oil and brown the tofu cubes, about 6 minutes.
- Pour in the ingredients for the sauce. Mix and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 3 to 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
- Serve with your choice of side (rice, vegetables)
